Covid-19 update July 2

In light of the Government’s decision to reduce social distancing to 1 metre from July 4th, here are some important modifications to our Covid protection measures.
Boat use:
From Monday July 6th we are suspending the pre-booking system. Boats will be available on a first come first served basis, as in normal times, and can be used more than once a day. The 5pm finishing time is suspended. An extra line has been added to booking-in slips to show if a boat is being used.
A maximum of any 2 members can share a boat, and it’s up to you to ensure you observe the 1 metre rule at all times.
It is essential that members disinfect their boat and oars before AND after use. The spray equipment is stored on site. Internal areas of the boats must be sprayed, with particular attention to seats, rowlocks and engine mounting areas. It is your responsibility to ensure that disinfection is carried out, for your own safety as well as that of other boat users.

From July 4th the lounge of the Clubhouse will be open to members. Again, social distancing rules must be observed. Some furniture has been removed to allow sufficient spacing between tables. Sanitisers will be provided for wiping down surfaces after use, but you are advised to bring your own with you as well. If you enter the Clubhouse, it is your responsibility to disinfect the tables and chairs you have used. Please take any rubbish home with you.
The kitchen, corridor and Office remain strictly out of bounds. Access to the internal toilets remains through the back door only.
We’ll keep you informed of any further changes through these messages, our Website, and Facebook page.
