Welcome to Westwater Fly Fishing Club

Westwater Fly Fishing Club is a fly fishing club with private bank and boat fishing on two superb 125 acre lakes at Hallington, approximately 8 miles north of Corbridge in Northumberland. Regularly stocked with hard-fighting, fully-finned rainbow and brown trout, these waters offer the angler, novice or expert, something very different; something quieter, a haven away from the pressure, competitiveness and sometimes crowded atmosphere of pay-by-the-hour venues. Members may fish as often as they like and for as long as they like, restricted only by open season dates, opening hours & catch limits. The Hallington fishery, managed by Westwater Angling for over 55 years, provides a very special environment; quiet, peaceful and tranquil, where fishing can be enjoyed at its

We have a beautiful fishing lodge overlooking the lakes with a comfortable lounge, a well-equipped kitchen and ladies and gents toilets.

We have a number of fully qualified and experienced coaches. Details are provided on the Facilities page,

The current subscription for full membership is listed below. This may be paid in instalments and is charged pro-rata for new members joining mid-season.

FOR THE LATEST NEWS ITEMS AND A NUMBER OF USEFUL PUBLICATIONS, GO TO THE NEWS TAB. New to fly fishing? No kit? No problem. New full members and trial members who do not already own the necessary equipment will be supplied with a starter kit of the basic essentials and free coaching sessions. A deposit of £50 will be required which will be refunded if and when the kit is returned.

A limited number of day tickets are available each day for fishing from the bank only. The price is £45/day and must be pre-booked. An individual may fish by day ticket only twice in any one season.

A two month trial membership is available, once only for any individual. If you subsequently become a member, you will be required to pay only pro rata for the remainder of the season.

Boat use is free of charge to members.

With over 5 km of bank to explore it never feels crowded at Hallington

The season runs from the beginning of April to the end of October. In recent seasons this has been extended to include November; the decision for 2023 is yet to be made.

With catch & release it is essential that the fish are released back into the water in the best possible condition. See advice on the Etiquette page.

Catch and keep Fish may be caught and kept up to a daily bag limit
