A Memorable Fish For 2025

Despite a strong southerly wind, long-time member John Myers reeled in a stunning 9lb 3oz fish on May 31st. He was fishing on the East Lake, approximately 10 yards below the viaduct inlet. The photo shows his fishing buddy, Davy Price, proudly holding John’s catch.

It fell to a dry Black Muddler.

Hook: A dry fly hook in size 10-12.
Use a strong thread, such as UNI, in a colour like black or brown.
Deer Hair: Black deer hair for the collar and head, ensuring the hairs point rearward at an angle.
Optional: Marabou feathers (black) for wings or underwings.
Optional: Flash material like Crystal Flash or Nanosilk for added attraction.
