SANDRA BAKER – Assistant to the Financial Director
Sandra became the main administrator of Westwater in 1990, looking after members, their guests, and visiting anglers. At this time the club also had the Whittle Dene day ticket fishery, as well as Craglough. Sandra’s job was made considerably easier when an Apple microcomputer was purchased. Today she continues to provide invaluable help to Richard Catterall, the Finance Director, especially in organising records necessary for the Club’s year-end accounts.
JACKIE WILLSHIRE – Office Manager
When her husband Steve moved up to Hallington with his job in 1990, Jackie took over the cleaning responsibilities. In 1996 when Sandra reduced her duties, Jackie took them over. She is the go-to person for all admin. She worked hard to drive through and see the successful implementation of the computerised booking system introduced in April 2023. She ensures the members’ database is kept up to date. She ensures that new members are greeted with a Welcome Pack. She manages members’ receipts and takes them to the bank. Working with the board she issues the Monthly Newsletter and informs members of all other important information. If you wish to purchase a Visitor Ticket it is Jackie who ensures you get the correct documentation and the Fishery Manager knows you are coming.
IAN SCOTT – Fishery Manager
Ian commenced working with John Irving in 2010. By the time John retired in 2017, Ian had served his 7-year apprenticeship! Having run his own haulage and catering companies for 55 years he brings a wealth of experience. Put simply, he is Hallington’s meet-and-greet man. His experience means he is also responsible for general maintenance: boat repairs, as well as ensuring boat moorings work and are easy for members to use. He assists in stocking deliveries and thanks to him and his excellent working relationship with the trout delivery drivers, he can ensure trout are stocked at different parts of the lakes. Finally, he oversees and helps the older members navigate the Membership Booking system. He enthusiastically shows prospective and new members what Hallington has to offer. He is ably assisted by Davey Cottrell and if in doubt ask either of them and they will keep you straight.
